Sound Mind: Causes and Healing for Sexual Trauma
May 16, 2017 KCIS Radio Seattle. Sexual Trauma doesn’t have to be the result of overt or deliberate sexual aggression. There is a lot of dysfunction that is in the ‘drinking water,’ to use the cliche,’ that unfolds in such a way that it does the same kind of damage. As parents, we may think our secrets are hidden, buried or adequately managed. That is not that case. We pass these on to our children in ways that “traumatize” and effectuate further dysfunction. When we see troubling behaviors in our young people, and finally make the connection to our own pasts, healing must take place. In this broadcast Daniel discusses some of the roots and characteristics this kind of trauma, and basics of healing.
